Urban Symmetry / Simetría Urbana

One of the things that caught my eye in Valladolid the other day was the sense of balance and order even in it’s old town. The streets lined on either side by stone columns and picture windows and buildings forming acute angles as roads meet to form neat little “plazas”. I always tend to prefer organic and fluid shapes but I have to admit that there is something pleasing and almost relaxing about urban symmetry.
